Project Officer

(Events and Community Outreach)

Position Overview

Science Centre Singapore is dedicated to the promotion of interest, learning and creativity in science & technology through imaginative and enjoyable experiences, and to contribute to the nation's development of its human resource.

 

We are looking for a dynamic candidate to join the Events and Community Outreach department as a Project Officer.


Essential Job Functions

You are responsible for organising STEM events and outreach projects that inspire and nurture the passion for scientific inquiry and interest in Singapore youth. Some projects are open to parents and educators as they too play key roles in the youth's educational development and career choices.

Your primary role is to plan, coordinate, and execute a diverse range of events, including conferences, competitions, seminars, and workshops, ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for attendees. You will support project deliverables, including logistics, venue sourcing, vendor management, marketing, and on-site event coordination.

You will develop and deliver inclusive, impactful, and unique learning experiences in terms of STEM for students, teachers, public and families that will drive visitorship and generate revenue for Science Centre Singapore.

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate should have a tertiary qualification in STEM and a good knowledge of modern concepts in Science and Technology. Event and project management related qualifications and experiences may apply.

    Prior experience in large-scale event management, budget and project planning would be an advantage.

    Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients, vendors, and team members, promoting clear and timely information sharing and decision-making is required.

    The candidate must be passionate, innovative, professional with good quality of work. The ability to express clearly in written and oral communication is essential.   Additionally, he/she must have integrity, detail oriented, adaptable, a team player with good communication and decision-making skills and be able to work on occasional evenings and weekends, as required.
