Senior Guide, Dialogue with Time

(11 Months Temporary Assignment)


Position Overview

Science Centre Singapore is dedicated to the promotion of interest, learning and creativity in science & technology through imaginative and enjoyable experiences, and to contribute to the nation's development of its human resource.

 

Embark with us on this exciting journey to share your journey with ageing as a temporary Senior Guide with Dialogue with Time.


Essential Job Functions

As a Senior Guide, you will work a minimum of 16 hours and a maximum of 32 hours per month. You will lead engaging 1-hour tours, captivating visitors with personal stories and debunking stereotypes about ageing. You will also lead discussions on the diverse opportunities and limitations of ageing, positioning yourself at the forefront of exploring the future of an ageing society.

 

In addition, you will facilitate interactive activities at the Centre and co-facilitate experiences at designated exhibitions. You will also participate in community outreach programs and support events such as the International Day of Older Persons and Christmas. Alongside this, you will assist with front desk operations, offering the excitement of new adventures and opportunities to make a meaningful impact every day.

 

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate should be a retired senior and conversant in sharing his/her aging experience in the form of storytelling to engage visitors to embrace ageing and mitigate the fears of getting old.

    As tours are conducted in English, the candidate must be fluent in English. Fluency in other mother tongue languages such as Chinese, Malay or Tamil is an advantage.

     

    Above all else, he/she must be confident and enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life.
