Science Centre Singapore is looking for committed volunteers eager to create an impact in the field of STEM in Singapore. We offer numerous volunteering opportunities for people with and without a STEM background.

Requirements for Volunteering
Should you be keen to join us as a volunteer, below is a list of requirements you would have to meet:
- At least 14 years of age (by calendar year).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with and engage people of various ages.
- Enthusiastic and friendly attitude.
- Strong commitment to provide a high standard to visitor service.
- All volunteers are required to undergo SCS orientation (and training if pre-requisites for an event is required).
- NOTE: No science background required - we value diverse talents!

Science Centre Singapore is currently in the process of piloting a volunteering programme for seniors. If you are a retiree and you would like to volunteer with us or join us to pilot this programme, kindly fill up the interest form here and we will reach out to you to provide more information.

Can I count my volunteer hours at Science Centre Singapore towards VIA?
Volunteer hours served at Science Centre Singapore are VIA applicable. -
What if I cannot meet the minimum of 30 hours a year as a regular volunteer?
The 30 hours per year is an indicative commitment that we hope our volunteer can meet, but if you're unable to meet the minimum, no penalties will be applied. Instead, we'll adjust the rewards tier for your volunteer membership. -
I will be turning 14 this year. Do I need to wait until after my birthday to register as a volunteer?
You may register as we follow the calendar year, and not date of birth.

I am a foreigner/non-Singaporean citizen but I would like to volunteer at Science Centre.
We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds, regardless of citizenship, provided you are over 14 years old. We would be delighted to have you on board as a volunteer.

Yes, we do provide volunteer certificates upon request.

What does the role/scope of a volunteer involve?
The role of a volunteer involves a variety of tasks depending on the specific event or program you're participating in. Generally, volunteers assist with activities such as event setup, registration, facilitation, and helping with general operations.
Scope will be communicated when we announce the call for volunteers, and we ensure that volunteers will be given clear instructions and ample training where necessary.

No prior science knowledge? No problem! We welcome individuals from all backgrounds. We provide comprehensive training to all volunteers before they begin their roles, ensuring everyone is well-prepared regardless of their background.
