Position Overview

Essential Job Functions

As an Assistant Experience Engineer, you play a pivotal role in developing exhibits and experience, ensuring they operate at the highest level for the enjoyable experience for our guests. Your responsibilities include the following:

  •       Exhibit Ideation and Prototyping
  •    Work on Exhibit Specifications (including providing technical advice for development projects)
  •     Exhibit checks, reporting, troubleshooting and maintenance of exhibits/exhibitions
  •      Set-up and takedown of Exhibitions
  •     Carry out periodic image back-ups of our exhibits, maintaining the exhibition network and administration of the team’s knowledge management database (storage FTP server)
  •   Coordinate with the Facilities Maintenance team on joint operations

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have good knowledge in science.

-       Diploma in Industrial Design/Product Design and/or Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent. 

-       Knowledge and work experience in the following areas will be an advantage.

  • Machining, mechanical assembly works, electrical and electronic systems, digital prototyping using CAD (computer-aided Design) software.
  • Rapid prototyping, addictive and subtractive fabrication of spare parts and components for exhibits, exhibit housing and experiences.
  • Operating woodworking machines such as, the bench saw, planer, routers and stand drill.
  • Wood/plastics fabrication works
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting basic computer hardware faults, diagnose software issues within an exhibit and resolve them

 

Other Skills/Abilities

Having a strong interest in taking apart or fixing things, coupled with the ability to handle basic equipment and tools useful in carrying out the duties within the galleries.

Shift Requirements

Rotating 5-day work shifts is a requirement, while duties on weekends and public holidays will be scheduled as and when required.
