What Did I Come Here For, Again?
Does the idea of growing older frighten you? Age is just a number, but the thing most people fear is perhaps the idea of losing control of themselves – on one hand, losing physical strength, getting exhausted quicker, and a greater likelihood to incur injurie, and on the other, forgetting memories and their train of thoughts.

Come join us in this Science Café session and learn how we can support our seniors!

Portraying Dementia in Children’s Comics

Melanie Lee
Writer & Educator

If no one takes the effort to bridge this gap between what the previous generation knows and what the current generation cares about, either side can feel alienated. With loss of cognitive function for some seniors, they also feel as if they were losing their dignity. As a community, taking the effort to understand them not just help seniors feel included, but also trains younger folks to be more receptive of other perspectives.
